This year marks 30 years of living with Crohn’s disease. I was diagnosed with this inflammatory bowel disease (sexy stuff!) when I was 7, and in my twenties, that diagnosis was upgraded to Crohn’s-colitis. (Overachiever alert!) Today, in honor of Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week (December 1–7), I’m talking all about my history with IBD and about living with a chronic illness. (Reminder: I’m not a doctor! This is all about my personal, lived experience with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.)
